A School in The Cloud



 The School in the Cloud - a project created by 2013 TED prize winner Sugata Miltra - makes teachers available online to mentor children in schools around the world. They call it “Skype Granny”. This style of teaching method is aim to be flexible, therefore when it comes to the topics which are dealt with in the classes are performed by going off on a tangent. Furthermore The use of technology in schools is changing the environment and atmosphere in the classes. For this reason, children need to be allowed to take more charge of their learning, with the teacher acting in a more supporting role.

 The structure of this reading material is based on an interview type. They interviewed a person who were involved in the project and delivered the key information to the subscribers. Hence People can tell not only What 'skype granny' is in detail but also Why It is educative for children.

Q1) How is the project from the viewpoint of the children who have taken this project?
- This project faced some frustrating happens at the beginning. One of the most frustrating problem was a "Language barrier" Children couldn't get through well when they had in trouble to have a conversation in English. Although They could have given up learning English at that time, the Grannies did what they do best: provide encouragement which was successful. 

Q2) Are there any surveys or statistics about the output of this project?


 Children can learn through the Internet and the teachers, they call 'skype granny', have a wonderful second life after retirements by teaching children who live in disadvantaged or isolated area. Refer to the goal of this project 'SOLEs', This idea would go viral and help many people achieve a decent quality of educative materials regardless of their situation.
